My Biography:

I grew up here on the Olympic Peninsula where I spent the vast majority of my time outside in the ponds, streams and bushes.

Before I was ever born my Grandfather did a great thing for his family. He left the orange fields of California and dug himself into the fishing industry. Him and my grandmother made great sacrifices and survived what many could not and in the end created a successful company from their humble beginnings of living in a tent in the brutal climate of Northern Alaska.

This gave me the opportunity to hop on a fishing vessel and make some excellent money pretty much whenever the need occurred which has been a tremendous blessing throughout my life since the young age of 14.

I enjoy fishing and it’s excitement with all of it’s challenges except for one thing that has always pulled me away. It’s hard on family life. I think I would be safe to say with rare exception that fishermen are divorced or dead before to many seasons come and go and your odds go down as the years pass by.

I love more than anything my family, and so my main goal in life has always been to stay home close to them.

But one must still make a living to support ones family.

I’ve always been told and read that to build a successful business, simply do what you love.

Well, my favorite thing has always been to head out into the bushes and find a beautiful spot always involving a stream and building a campsite. I guess they were my answer to a fort with no lumber.

From grading and retaining walls to fish weirs and fire pits I’d basically be landscaping for my own entertainment.

So right around 1991 I made up some business cards and started landscaping. Almost exclusively installs which was great during economic good times.

The challenge in landscaping here on the Olympic Peninsula is 1st a lack of population and secondly you can’t compete with a common water view out one window and a snow capped mountain view out the other.

I know I could thrive doing what I love in another location, but this is home and my roots go deep.

With today’s technology, the internet and the ability for overnight shipping I can now stay home and serve the entire nation.

My goal:

To get back into the fish industry. This time as a family effort. I am in the process of creating a koi farm, starting out as a koi dealer and then working into a breeder as I expand. I became obsessed with koi fish the first time I saw the giant colorful wonders on a family vacation to Hawaii in 1988.

We have kept koi since shortly after that on a hobby level and I’ve built quite a few ponds for people over the years many of which contain koi. I just can’t get enough of them and I am immeasurably exited about my venture into dealing and working with them in great numbers with my family by my side.

I appreciate your support and comments and am happy to answer any questions.  Thanks,  Aaron Jones
